Special Webinar Conference

October 19, 2018

As we know, it’s not the smartest people that are the most successful or the most fulfilled in life. When it comes to happiness and success in life, emotional intelligence (EQ) matters just as much as intellectual ability or IQ - some say it matters more.

So, if you're new to the field of emotional intelligence or an experienced practitioneer, you'll want to attend this webinar to gain new insights. Not only will you hear about what it is, you'll also hear how it's being applied from three different perspectives. Join us as we view "Emotional Intelligence Through Three Lenses".

11:00 AM ESTEmotional Intelligence: The Only  Pathway to Resonant Leadership - Lynne Davidson, PhD

Leaders in the workplace, especially in the C Suite and those engaging in new leadership positions, face extraordinarily difficult decisions, interpersonal demands, and overwhelming stressors. With a multiplicity of these stressors, a leader can fall into the sacrificial syndrome and by default a dangerous dissonance. Without engaging in a renewal process, the leader will lose relational power, influence, and self-credibility. Without renewal, the leader can no longer lead with the requisites of resonant leadership as described by Richard Boyatzis as Wisdom, Hope, and Compassion. The latter is a relational skill which like other competencies demonstrate women have a greater edge than men. Several other gender differences will be discussed in brief.

This session posits that emotional intelligence in the only pathway to achieve and sustain resonant leadership. Application of the Emotional Intelligence Leadership Assessment EQ-i 2.0, reveals the competencies that a leader must excel in to attain wisdom, hope and compassion. Mastering the EQ-i 2.0 competencies on a leadership scale will provide individuals with the tools paramount to a leader’s renewal before dissonance leads to leadership demise.

 Objectives:

  •  Learn what “Resonant Leadership” is and compare with other styles/models of leadership
  • Understand the model of the emotional assessment EQ-i 2.0
  • Using the assessment provided, how do you think you would rank on the leadership continuum? What do you think are your strengths and needs for development?

12:00 PM ESTFrom Conception to Cessation: Unlocking Emotional Pathways to Humanship - Shené Marsh-Beckford, PhD

Cross-disciplinary researchers and practitioners agree emotions are an indispensable part of the human experience that develops and continues to manifest over the lifespan. Over this period, regardless of its length, individuals are faced with countless opportunities to use their emotions and emotional knowledge to enrich their individual experience and shared interactions. Unfortunately, not all persons cultivate and maximize their social and emotional intelligence skillsets over their lifecycle. Study findings imply these individuals typically have difficulty managing and gauging emotional situations, which also influences their life experiences and communication with others.

In this session, you will be introduced to a fresh way of thinking about how social and emotional learning practices, adapted humanship principles, and refined gamification techniques can be combined to activate an inclusive, human-centered approach and promote skill development.

 Objectives:

  •  Explore how emotions can be accessed from prenatal development to death.
  • Define humanship and identify three key emotional pathways for achieving it.
  • Demonstrate the role and impact of play on emotional development and social engagement.

01:00 PM ESTEmotional Mastery: "Feel It 2 Heal It!" - Matt Perelstein, MCP

There is a science and an art to EQ.  Many research, study, experiment and try to measure our thoughts and feelings, but there is more to us than that.

In this presentation, Matt will focus on the art of practicing EQ.  He'll take you thru the 3 Steps to EQ, 4 Steps to Learning, 7 Steps to Turning Negative Feelings into Positives, and 10 Steps to Make your Life Work with EQ.  He believes you'll find these simple, memorable, repeatable steps to be some of the most practical lessons available.  EQ -- our thoughts, feelings and actions -- affect everything we do, every relationship we have and the bottom-line results we achieve (or don't achieve) in life, and they will continue to impact us every second of every day for the rest of our days.  If you are looking for statistics and science, this is not the session for you.  If, however, you are looking for ways of comprehending, and truly living EQ, please attend as we explore some powerful strategies.

 Objectives:

  • Appreciate the awesome power that is inside you -- in your mind (IQ) and in your heart (EQ).  #EmotionalMastery
  • Grasp that you have much more control over your inner world than you believed possible.  #HappinessIsAChoice, #SuccessIsALearnedSkill
  • Learn simple, practical steps to heal negative emotions and take control of your emotional life. #FeelIt2HealIt, #NameIt2TameIt, #SpinIt2WinIt
